Conditions for paying compensation
If your Lufthansa flight is delayed by 4 hours (for routes of over 3,500km), by 3 hours (for routes between 1,500km and 3,500km), or by 2 hours in flights under 1,500km, you are entitled to meal and refreshment vouchers, and may also be entitled to hotel accommodation and transportation to the hotel. If a flight is delayed by more than 5 hours, you can request a plane ticket refund covering the cost of the affected travel segment.

- Checked luggage: One item weighing no more than 23kg in Economy/Two items weighing no more than 23kg in Premium Economy/Two items weighing no more than 32 kg in Business/Three items weighing no more than 32kg in First. The sum of all the item’s dimensions should not exceed 158cm.
- Carry-on luggage: One personal item + One item in Economy/Two items in Business and First not exceeding 55x40x32 cm. Maximum weight is 8kg.

Lufthansa General Information
Lufthansa is a German airline founded in 1955 when it started connecting German cities with the major European capitals and with a few destinations in North America. The airline is headquartered in Cologne and has its main hubs at Frankfurt and Munich airports. In 2017, Lufthansa transported 130 million passengers and employed approximately 130,000 people worldwide.
