Major flight disturbances expected on December 5th in all French Airports

Nationwide strikes will bring traffic to a halt in France on Thursday the 5th of December. As part of continuing protests against pension reform unions across the country have called on members to strike.

Most effected with be rail travel with national rail company SNCF cancelling 90% of services and Parisian transport system RAPT with most metro lines closed [1].

20% of flights cancelled

Air traffic controllers, members of USAC-CGT (Union Syndicale de l’Aviation Civile – CGT), have issued strike notice along with members of Air France ground staff. Approximately 30% of interior flights and 15% of international flights are expected to be cancelled.

Air France’s low cost airline Transavia France is expected to be not affected.

Alternate travel to airports

Passengers travelling to or from Paris airports are recommended to use Bus Direct which will provide extra services or reserve a taxi in advance, as well as confirming their flight before going to the airport.

Eurostar

Train services on Eurostar are expected to be affected from Thursday to the middle of next week. Passengers can find updated information on services here.
